Although the use of KleerKleen™4002 is generally very safe, contact with sodium hydroxide can cause chemical burns on the body. Please refer to the safety data sheet for further information. KleerKleen™4002 should not be used to clean aluminium, zinc or galvanically treated steel.

The relevant laws and statutory regulations for the disposal of liquids and chemicals must be observed. Please consult the responsible local authorities.

KleerKleen™4002 should be stored between 10° C and 70° C. It is recommended to run in-house test series with your products before use in production. Every product and every product environment reacts differently, and only suitable testing can ensure that KleerKleen™4002 delivers optimal results in your application. No warranties may be passed on without the express consent of the manufacturer.

KleerKleen™4002

Highly alkaline cleaning of stainless steel before passivation with CitriSurf: KleerKleen™4002 is a concentrate for cleaning and pretreatment before passivation of stainless-steel products. The formula has been optimized to support the effect of products in the CitriSurf® product line when cleaning and passivating stainless steels. It provides a cost-effective way to remove contamination from the surface.

APPLICATION

  1. The solution is prepared by slowly adding the dry powder to pure water (DI water or distilled water). Heat is generated during this process. The amount of dry powder depends on the desired pH value. The tank must be filled so that all parts to be cleaned are covered with liquid. The tank can be made of stainless steel or PP. Moving the solution by circulation or ultrasound improves the cleaning result. Optimal results are achieved with the correct temperature. The heating elements should be Teflon-coated, stainless steel or titanium. The recommended temperature is between 65° C and 80° C. At room temperature, longer exposure times of up to 60 minutes must be calculated. To remove all contamination from the surface, exposure times of 15 to 60 minutes are recommended, depending on the temperature. After the cleaning bath, the parts must be rinsed in pure water (DI water or distilled water) before passivation is continued. The entire process should be adapted to the specific conditions and validated in in-house test series.
